Shiver me timbers! Ye have arrived at Fort Lauderdale’s popular Pirate Republic Seafood and Grill. Located on the water on SW 3rdAvenue, you can arrive by land or by water taxi. You will be greeted with a squawk by live parrots at the entrance. Pirate Republic began in 2005 as “The Pirate Shop” which evolved into “The Pirate Bar” and eventually into the full service restaurant it is today.  Wander around and check out the life size pirate statues throughout the restaurant!
Boasting a Happy Hour from 4pm-7pm, which includes a $7 tapas menu, Pirate Republic is a great place to relax by the water with a drink and some fresh seafood. With an extensive lunch and dinner menu featuring various seafood and meat dishes as well as many vegetarian options there are plenty of choices for everyone. Be sure to come hungry, as the portions at Pirate Republic are generous and delicious.
Seafood dishes from Pirate Republic include a plethora of combination plates such as their signature dish featuring shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams, as well as simple fish sandwiches and salads.  For meat lovers, Pirate Republic has a variety of steak and chicken dishes as well as a full array of burgers. There is also a menu for “the little swashbucklers” so be sure to bring the kids for a fun family meal by the water.

Hello Sushi

Hello Sushi
Wall of CharactersLocated right in Hollywood Circle is a taste of Japan.  Right when you enter Hello Sushi, it’s as if you have entered another world.  The walls are covered with Japanese landmarks and it almost feels as if you’re there.  Anime is projected on one side of the walls.  Hello Sushi even has the clean and simple décor of Japan down to the last detail. Click Here for InTown’s Listing of Hello Sushi.

SushiThe food at Hello Sushi is just as authentic and detailed.  The lemonade is homemade.  With a full sushi bar, the food is made fresh-to-order.  Each wasabi serving is carved into a green (tea) leaf.  The seaweed salad is divine, and the dragon rolls are made in the form of a dragon!  Live the American Dream or just eat the roll with cooked salmon, cucumber, and avocado.  Hello Sushi also offers a delicious Thai cuisine menu.  Click Here for InTown’s Gallery of Hello Sushi.

Sushi RollsAfter eating fresh sushi, don’t forget to save some room.  What’s Japanese food without the desserts?  At Hello Sushi, there is a selection that includes fried bananas with honey, thai donut, tempura cheesecake, and ice cream.  The food and interior at Hello Sushi go hand-in-hand: simple and clean.  Experience the delicious of Japan at Hello Sushi.  Click Here for Hello Sushi’s website.

Harrison's Wine Bar

Harrison's Wine Bar
BarThe lights are low, the ambiance is intimate, and the bar has whatever your heart desires.  The big leather couches lets you know you can be comfortable, when you’re out.  As you make your way to the back, a beautiful patio that includes cabanas awaits you.  This luxurious atmosphere also comes with a fusion of fun in the form of a stripper pole.  The people at Harrison’s Wine Bar, also known as Rich and Mary, definitely knew what they were doing here.  Click Here for InTown’s Listing of Harrison’s Wine Bar.
Selection of BeerHarrison’s Wine Bar has a wonderfully vast selection of wines in addition to beers, martinis, and drinks.  Whatever you choose, it will be perfectly (and strongly) blended by the bartender, Todd, who is exceptionally personable and friendly to everyone!  Even the clientele at Harrison’s Wine Bar should be recognized as the beautiful and sexy.  There are some great characters here.  Click Here for InTown's Gallery of Harrison's Wine Bar.

LoungeKnown as a “lifestyle bar”, Harrison’s Wine Bar is a place where “adventurous couples and singles meet”.  They also have ladies night, couples night, and happy hour.  Hungry?  You won’t have to go far for a bite.  Harrison’s Wine Bar has the best burgers in town, and delicious tapas.  Personally, I would recommend Todd’s Tacos – your choice of turkey, sirloin, or chicken with authentic chime churry and taco sauce.  Yum!  Click Here for Harrison’s Wine Bar’s website.

Yogurt Ur Way Cafe

Yogurt Ur Way Cafe
Frozen YogurtYogurt Ur Way Cafe is clean, simple, and delicious!  This Hollywood yogurt shop has a variety of flavors.  From the classic vanilla and chocolate to the wonderful thin mint (Hello, Girl Scout Cookies!) and cappuccino flavors, there are 40 rotating flavors here.  The best part is you can serve yourself.  Yes, you have the power to fill that yogurt to the top of your cup.  Yogurt Ur Way has a selection that cannot be matched.  Click Here for InTown’s Listing of Yogurt Ur Way Cafe.

ToppingsWhat’s yogurt without toppings?  Yogurt Ur Way has a spotless counter for theirs.  I hate when the various toppings get mixed together, but that does not happen here.  They are clearly separated and as a result, delicious!  The granola is such a great, crunchy contrast to the yogurt.  The fruit toppings, such as strawberries, cherries, and blueberries, are such a healthy treat.  In my opinion, nothing beats those lychee boba (there’s also mango and strawberry boba).  Click Here for InTown’s Gallery of Yogurt Ur Way.

Yogurt SelectionThe only thing better than frozen yogurt and your choice of toppings is putting it in a fresh-made waffle bowl.  And that is available at Yogurt Ur Way.  They tend to stand out from all the other frozen yogurt places because they can read my mind.  How did they know I think the best thing to eat with something sweet is something savory?  And Yogurt Ur Way has all of that!  Alongside the various yogurts are wraps, including fajita chicken, teriyaki, tuna salad, and veggie burger, and salads.  They also offer coffee and croissants.  It’s as if they know our hunger for contrasting tastes. Click Here for Yogurt Ur Way Cafe’s Facebook page.

BurgerThis is a restaurant with history.  Keeping their family’s tradition alive and with the help of their father, Nick and Peter (the “bros”) began the Burger Bros. to carry on their belief that you can give your customers a great meal with fresh ingredients at inexpensive prices.  From homemade chili to their own brand of old-time fountain drinks, this place will give your palate a refreshing change to the “burger and fries” concept.  Click Here for InTown’s Gallery of Original Burger Bros.

Burger and FriesThe menu has something for everyone.  The onion rings are hand-cut and hand-made.  Turkey burgers, chicken burgers, and various styles of hot dogs will have you wanting seconds.  But leave room for dessert.  Their delightful root beer floats, shakes, and ice cream sundaes will be calling your name.  Eating fresh food while spending a day at the beach – I can’t think of a better way to spend my time.  Click Here for Original Burger Bros’ Facebook.
