Almost as elusive as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, Waxy O'Connors is tough to spy when you drive down 17th Street Causeway; this little Irish restaurant and pub hides its charms behind a hedge. But, once you find the place and make your way inside, you will discover a beautiful dark-wood bar that offers plenty of little private nooks where you can have quiet conversation and a pint as well as a noisy outdoor patio with swing tables populated by ex-pats, yachties and Lauderdale locals. The beer selection is outrageously good, the sports tend to be European and the atmosphere is casual.
