Waxy O' Connors

Waxy O'Connors - A hard-to-find Lauderdale hotspotLast week, Intown411 set your sails toward the hidden treasure on the docks at the end of 15th St., 15th Street Fisheries. This week, Intown411 continues turning up the best of Fort Lauderdale's difficult-to-find restaurants and bars, and we're taking you to Waxy O'Connor's
Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub
Almost as elusive as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, Waxy O'Connors is tough to spy when you drive down 17th Street Causeway; this  little Irish restaurant and pub hides its charms behind a hedge. But, once you find the place and make your way inside, you will discover a beautiful dark-wood bar that offers plenty of little private nooks where you can have quiet conversation and a pint as well as a noisy outdoor patio with swing tables populated by ex-pats, yachties and Lauderdale locals. The beer selection is outrageously good, the sports tend to be European and the atmosphere is casual.
