The 41-year old World Famous Parrot Fort Lauderdale is a casual beachfront watering hole located in The Village, a suddenly-bustling block (Sunrise Lane) of restaurants, bars and tattoo shops that's located behind the newly-opened B Ocean Fort Lauderdale hotel at Sunrise Boulevard and A1A. The Parrot, a long-standing nightlife institution where locals and Philadelphia sports fans mix with beachgoing tourists, serves up a full menu, mixing casual pub fare such as burgers, cheesesteaks and wings with dinner entrees such as New York Strip, a half rack of ribs and mahi mahi.
The bar offers select drink specials all day long -- check out the megabuckets of 15 beers for $35 -- and an extensive list of craft beers, including Shipyard Prelude, Magic Hat #9 and Blue Point Toasted Lager. The in-the-biz crowd gets 2-4-1 drink specials after 10 p.m. Inside, flat-screen televisions and neon beer signs light up the main bar, which is surrounded by booth seating. Outside, table seating puts Parrot patrons right in the middle of the neighborhood's action. There's a also a side bar with high top tables and shuffle board, Wii and darts.
Hours: 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
